Two
disquieting figures, stood at the entrance, seem almost to challenge each other,
barking in a terrible way: the apotropaic function of masks and fanta-stic
monsters, above all if they stand on façades of Catholic faith, stresses
the fact that in Salento the sacred and the profane have always met, complemen-ting
each other.
